DESCRIPTION:
Together with Faust Thermographic Supply,
Form Flo has developed the WT500 web thermography unit.
Thermography, or "raised printing," is a specialized finishing process
involving heat. It has come into wide use for such items as
invitations, stationery, business cards, greeting cards, gift wrap
paper, advertising, direct mail and labels for packaging and bottles,
books and book covers.
With the now introduced web process new applications are possible.
The eye-appeal of thermography is used to increase the visual excitement
of printed material, and to add a new dimension and value to a wide
variety of products. Dimension, sheen, texture, and visual
interest can be added with thermography, at a cost much less expensive
than traditional foil stamping, embossing, and other processes.
The WT500 can be added to a web label or offset press. This
retrofit web thermography unit makes it possible to do in-line thermography
in conjunction with flat printing all in one pass through the press,
without reducing the speed of the press. This breakthrough
eliminates the cost of a separate off-line process, lowers costs
dramatically, and increases profit margins. Despite its actual
cost-savings factor, thermography "looks expensive" and actually
adds an upscale look to printed material. Another exciting added
value product from Form Flo.
